Daniel O’Brien is the Entrepreneur in Residence for LightBox, a Red Cell healthcare incubation.
Daniel is an experienced entrepreneur and product leader in the areas of digital health and financial technology. Prior to joining Red Cell and co-founding LightBox, he was the Co-Founder, COO, and Chief Product Officer of Floatfi. As a co-founder, he raised $3.5 million in venture funding; built and led a product and engineering team to build an innovative healthcare billing and payments platform servicing over 300 healthcare providers and their patients; and secured pilot partnerships with two major behavioral health focused telehealth platforms. He began his career as a product leader and one of the first employees at Rally Health. While there, he led engineering and design teams to build customer stratification and business intelligence services as well as internal tools and interfaces allowing no-code customer experience configuration. These products were instrumental in enabling the efficient growth that led to the company’s acquisition by United Healthcare.
Daniel has an MBA and a JD from The Wharton School and the University of Pennsylvania Law school as well as a B.A. from Brown University. In his spare time, Daniel enjoys watching stand-up comedy, playing chess, and coaching his niece and nephew’s sports teams. He resides with his fiance in the Washington D.C. area.
